As a dynamic progressive firm we have major expansion plans over the next 3-5 years. We are currently recruiting for an experienced bookkeeper to join our growing Audit & Accounting Team. This role is based in our Limerick office.

Current Vacancy – Bookkeeper / Management Accounts – 12-Month Contract

HLB McKeogh Gallagher Ryan is a leading provider of audit, assurance and accounting services. We provide the full range of audit and accounting services including statutory audit, accounts prep, audit compliance, company secretarial, accounts production and bookkeeping.

We work across a wide variety of sectors and for clients of different sizes including companies in the SME sector, partnerships, sole traders, professional service firms, family-owned businesses, limited companies, audit exempt companies.

This is initially a 12-month contract and will be reviewed thereafter. Applicants should have professional experience in book keeping, management accounts, accounts administration, office support/management and creditors/debtors control.

The Role Specification

The role will be based in our Limerick office and involve regular onsite work providing book keeping and basic accounting support to some of our clients in the Limerick region.

Reporting directly to managers and partners the role involves:

  • Management accounting
  • Nominal ledger accounting
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of cash flows
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Creditors reconciliations
  • Debtors control
  • Working to tight deadlines
  • Providing administrative assistance including in-house filing, archiving etc. as well as filing external returns with CRO, Revenue etc.

The Candidate Specification

The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ professional experience in a bookkeeping role, be comfortable multi-tasking in a busy office environment and working at client premises. The key attributes are:

MANDATORY:

  • Intermediate knowledge of Sage Line 50
  • Driving license and own car
  • 3 years bookkeeping and management accounting experience
  • Solid analytical skills and understanding of financial statements
  • Outstanding organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptable and flexible approach
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Ability to meet tight working deadlines

DESIRABLE

  • Strong IT literacy to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and clients
  • Proven experience handling a wide range of administration tasks and the ability to take responsibility for own workload
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure, while remaining positive, resourceful and efficient
